Why I Once Slapped My Father – Femi Adebayo ‎

Professional acting is one occupation that puts people in very unlikely situations, and sometimes those situations can get very heated, out of hand, and emotional based on the story one is telling and the character that they are embodying. Sometimes too, one can get so deep into a character that they lose themselves and forget their manners, attitude, or worse, their relationship with elders—even their own parents.

This is the case of what happened to star Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo whose father Salami Adebayo (also popularly known as Oga Bello) is also an actor. The two actors got together to shoot a movie in 2018 called Taiwo Taiwo which was a Funke Akindele film, and during the making of this movie, Femi Adebayo ended up slapping his own father. The actor made the revelation during a new interview that he appeared on where he narrated what led him to slap his father, how his father reacted, and what his father said to him after. Here’s what Femi Adebayo said.

Speaking in a brand new interview about how he ended up slapping his own father Oga Bello on a movie set, Femi Adebayo explained the ordeal saying:

FEMI ADEBAYO: It actually happened in Funke Akindele’s film ‘Taiwo Taiwo”. I was a thief and we went to rob him. It wasn’t in the film that I had to slap him, but the character was an aggressive thief, and the man didn’t want to give us money and I just realized that I raised my hand and hit him.

Then, when I begged him after the scene, he was like you would have been in trouble if you had failed to hit me.

What do you think of what Femi Adebayo said, and did? And what do you also think of his father’s reaction? Not many fathers would have responded in that way.
